USE A MOUSE WITH IPAD 2 PC
Logitech claims the M535 can virtually connect to any Bluetooth device out there so feel free to pair this mouse up with your iPad along with any Mac or Windows PC you may own. The curved shape also encompasses a rubber grip for when you want to use it for longer periods of time. The mouse itself is simple with just a DPI sensor button and your traditional left and right-click. The M535 while light in weight has been designed in a normal factor that still fits smaller hands without trouble. However, that small design also means that users with bigger hands might find it uncomfortable. This slim profile design ensures the mouse is small and even more lightweight than the Magic Mouse 2. While the mouse stays bent during operation, all you need to do is snap it flat to turn it off and keep it away in your pocket. Microsoft Arc Mouseĭesigned for pure portability in mind, the Microsoft Arc Mouse is based on a unique design with a bendable back. However, the process to use it along with Windows is more complicated so you’re better off sticking to your iPad.īuy from Apple: $79.00 4. The Magic Mouse 2 can also pair automatically with the Mac. While that isn’t a lot, the ability to easily plugin through the lightning cable ensures that charging is fast and almost effortless.
USE A MOUSE WITH IPAD 2 FULL
The mouse itself contains a built-in rechargeable battery that can last for a month on a full charge. So any navigation and selection you might think of, the Magic Mouse 2 can do that with ease. Having to start the stream, then minimize Big Picture, open steam settings and tick the correct box every time was just not worth it for me lol. While the mouse itself doesn’t bring any specific functionality on the iPadOS itself, it works seamlessly like any Bluetooth mouse. It worked correctly when turning it on WHILE streaming but when the stream is ended and then started again it does not get the aspect ratio right, instead adopting the client devices vertical resolution but not horizontal resolution. Steam does have an option to change the system resolution to the streaming clients native res which would make all the above unnecessary, but I found this option to be buggy. Some games have ui scaling options built into them too which is helpful to make the ui elements bigger if your on a smaller display. For my use case my launch parameters were factorio.exe -window-size 1441x1008 and that scaled it perfectly to the ipad display.
USE A MOUSE WITH IPAD 2 SOFTWARE
OR you can set the game to windowed mode and resize it until it shows on the ipad as fitting to the display and use some software to find out what measurements the screen is (I use windowspy that comes packaged with autohotkey) and then set the launch parameters to make the game launch windowed at the right size. If the game your running has custom res settings (not presets) you could put in something X&Y that is the same aspect ratio as the ipad, doesn't necessarily have to be the full res of the iPad display. definitely not the same as a PC so you will get black bars letterboxing the stream which is annoying af. Heres an issue that i was having that i managed to resolve myself, so maybe it will help you. The mouse is a spare Logitech MX vertical that I wasn't using anymore. Im assuming you have the gigantor version which would be a sweet as remote gaming platform. I have the gen after yours, the first one that had the full screen bezel with the 2nd gen wireless charging pencil, though, it shouldnt really affect the performance of the stream. If its unchangeable because of some iOS BS then I suppose I could always un-map the scroll wheel in Factorio settings but it doesn't do this anywhere else in the OS so I feel like its the way the steam link app is interpreting iOS's "mouse" (which is basically just treated as a finger on the touchscreen) input. Has anyone else come across this? Is it a setting in the steam link app I can change or something? there are some buttons that let me change how the inputs are registered but there's no labels and the icons aren't really self explanatory. I am however having an issue where if i click and hold and then move my mouse up or down (i.e dragging a select box for example) it also registers this as scroll up/down causing me to zoom in and out of what I'm doing while trying to draw a selection box around things. After a bit of troubleshooting and some settings tweaks it works! It's not the prettiest experience but it is travelling over 50km with consumer grade internet and it is playable so I'm stoked. So I had the stroke of genius to take my iPad out at lunch, pair a bluetooth keyboard and mouse and see if I could steam link to my PC at home to play Factorio on my lunch break.
